Papermaking

$55

with Jamie Thome

Calendar Next available session starts Sep 3, 2026 at 1 pm
2 additional sessions through Sep 10, 2026

Papermaking is an ancient art with seemingly endless variations and adaptations. At its heart, papermaking involves mixing plant fibers, recycled paper, or other materials with water to make pulp, using a mold and deckle to catch fibers on the screen, and drying/pressing those fibers to make a sheet of paper. You'll come away from this class with a new appreciation of paper and its variants, as well as several sheets of paper to use in your next bookbinding project.... or however you wish!

Note that this is a weather-dependent class. If we need to cancel, your registration fee will be either fully refunded, or credited toward a future class.

Work-in-Progress Feedback Group

$20

with Leah Mayers

Calendar Next available session starts Sep 3, 2026 at 6 pm
7 additional sessions through Dec 17, 2026

Do you have a creative project you’d like to workshop? Join a small group of writers and artists exploring what happens when art meets its audience. We meet regularly — you can register for all sessions or just a few. In order to give deep and detailed feedback, we limit the number of presenter spots in each session, but anyone can join to be a responder. When it’s your turn to present, bring a piece of visual art, music, writing…. any creative project you are working on, and the group will reflect on and ask meaningful questions of the work you’ve presented. Trust us: good feedback doesn’t have to be hollow, brutal, or boring. You’ll leave with greater clarity on your work, and a renewed enthusiasm to continue working on it. Open to everyone.
